Working out our salvation, Moving through fear

“Paralyzed by Fear in our faith-walk”

Hebrews 6:11-12 Now we want each of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the final realization of your hope 12 so that you won’t become lazy but will become imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and perserverence
Crippled by Fear. Numbers 13-14 The scouts returned and reported the exact opposite of what they witnessed, They were stifled by fear because of their lack of faith to take possession of what God had already promised. (13:31) But the men who had gone up with him responded, “We can’t go up against the people because they are stronger than we are! Consequently, they were left to wander for forty years in the desert (14:17) Since the Lord wasn’t able to this people into the land He swore to give them, He has slaughtered them in the wilderness.

Stirring, and spurring. When we are being prepared for an assignment, a stirring begins to take place between our wiil, and the power of the Holy Spirt (pneuma-sarx). This spirit of contention creates a feeling of un-easiness, and discomfort, causing us to move-Praise God! Psalm 119:75-76 I know, O LORD, that your riles and righteosness, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me. Let your steadfast love comfort me according to your promise to your servant.
Getting back on track. Separate the “Rocks from the Stones!” Of all our stuff, Which are the most pressing; causing the greatest discomfort? Devise a plan to work through it-Bring it to the throne for consideration, and Let the Lord make a way; To cause everything to fall into place.

Go after it! Obedience will cause our faith to increase: Romans 5:25 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into the grace in which we stand; rejoice in hope of the glory of God. This is a process that requires repetition, not the destination.

Why? Our faith is renewed as we pass through these challenges. We are moved from a spirit of bondage to a spirit of emancipation
Romans 6:22-23 But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome of eternal life.
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord NASB

  1. “When we are being prepared for an assignment, a stirring begins to take place between our wiil, and the power of the Holy Spirt (pneuma-sarx).” Amen! This is exactly where I find myself in Christ. I am uncomfortable and loving every minute of it! God is preparing me for something great; my flesh is frightened to say the least. Thanks for this encouraging and confirming post. Blessings!
